October-December Report January 28, 2013 “O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!O fear the Lord, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.” Psalm 34:8-9 Beloved brethren, As I look back at all the ways that the Lord proved His faithfulness this past year, I am left in awe. The Lord’s great love and awesome power manifested in all ways despite my shortcomings is amazing to me! This motivates me to keep trusting, serving, and depending on Him alone. Through the most difficult and joyful circumstances that the Lord had planned this past year, I was able to see the mighty hand of God at work. It does not cease to amaze me how the Lord has chosen me to be a part of His great work in the furthering of His kingdom. To Him alone be glory! We praise the Lord that the ministry in Fair Oaks continues to grow both spiritually and in number. The spiritual growth of the church has been evident these past three months in many ways. One of the ways has been through the Lord’s refining of the congregation through the revealing of sin. This has led people to confession, repentance, and the pursuit of holiness. The Lord has been purifying His people here and continues to do so. The ministry in Reno also continues to grow more in love with the Lord as they learn about Him through His word. These ministries have been such a blessing to me. I look forward to seeing all that the Lord has planned for this year! Following are some of the things the Lord has done in the last three months: October: · We began a leadership class for those that are serving as leaders in various ministries · We had our first Men’s Retreat at Lake Tahoe and it was a great blessing! We had an encouraging time in the word of God. Our theme was, “Men of Integrity” and 27 Men attended · We had our monthly Men and Women’s Fellowship activities, as well as our weekly events. The average attendance for this month was 130 people on Sunday mornings and 93people on Thursday evenings November: · We celebrated the baptism of our brothers: Victor, Cristina and Rosa. All three were Catholics before coming to Christ. They have responded to the call of the gospel and are now being discipled · We had our annual Thanksgiving service and dinner but with a different perspective. We decided to reach out to those in our community and serve them instead of ourselves. We encouraged the congregation to come fed and ready to serve those that came. We had approximately 150 people from our church attend and the Lord provided 15 visitors. One decision was made for Christ and one person rededicated their life to the Lord (Cinthia). Cinthia is now being disciple · We had our regular weekly activities and had an average of 125 people attend Sunday mornings and 97 people on Thursday evenings December: · The ladies had their annual Christmas breakfast banquet and had 31 ladies attend. My wife gave a devotional and two ladies made a decision for Christ. One of them (Lucero), is currently attending our church · The youth group had their Christmas fellowship night and 15 teens attended · We had our New Years Eve service and we had a great time of fellowship! We spent time in the word, had a time of worship, had dinner, and played games. We were able to do our tradition which is to end the year and receive the New Year praying. We had approximately 120 people and 10 visitors attend · We had our regular weekly activities and had an average of 120 people on Sundays and 80 people on Thursday evenings Please keep the following requests in prayer… · Our annual couples banquet on February 8th · New changes that are being made in the leadership of various ministries · A pastor to take over the ministry in Reno. A brother from Los Angeles (Gustavo) is desiring to serve in this ministry but is in need of having someone else take over the administration ministry he leads in his home church. Please pray that in the Lord’s timing, He would provide the adequate person to take his place · That he Lord would continue to provide strength and wisdom to my family and I so that we may continue serving Him diligently · That the Lord would continue to bless us with good health and safe traveling to Reno · That the Lord would save my son-in-law Noah. Following are some praises for the things the Lord has been doing in the ministry in Reno… · The financial provision for the rental of a room for the children’s and teen girls class · For the love and support that the cowboy church ministry has given in allowing us to serve in their building · For the visitors that have attended our holiday activities · For the families that attend and their love and hunger for the word of God · We have had an average of 30 people attend our Sunday services and 26 people attend ourWednesday night Bible studies Please keep the following requests in prayer for the ministry in Reno… · For the continual provision to pay the rent for the extra room that was needed for the children and the teen girls · That the Lord would continue to strengthen the brethren that are attending faithfully · That the brethren would continue being bold to share their faith in Christ with others · For outreach events that we will be having in the future · For a man named Milton and his family to grow and be strengthened in their walk with the Lord as they confront various difficult circumstances Thank you so much for all you do for us! Your love and support allows this ministry to continue to grow. We praise the Lord for your lives and ministries! May the Lord continue to use you all for His glory and honor.
