Our Fellowships
Overview |
What are fellowships? For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
—Matthew 18:20 (ESV) Fellowships are groups of people who gather to encourage each other in their Christian walks. These groups create opportunities for people to get to know each other more deeply in a more intimate setting than our all-church events and services.
Some groups (such as most of our youth groups) are for specific ages, while others are more geographically based and open to people for all life stages. Still others are for a specific demographic (e.g., sisterCARE is for women over X). Don't see a group right for you? Consider starting one: the church will provide you all the tools you need to host your own group. Our fellowship groups typically meet once a week, either at church (such as most of the youth groups) or at members' homes. The youth groups have adult sponsors as well as young leaders. What happens during a meeting, how often they happen, and who comes to a fellowship varies widely from group to group. But our desire for each group is to give each church member (or guest) the opportunity to get to know each other deeply, serve each selflessly, and encourage each other in our Christian walks. They are a crucial part of how the church achieves its purpose. Not sure which group to join or how you should serve? Just ask any of the greeters or find one of the pastors. They would be thrilled to guide you to the right one. |
